Work with the City of Plano Sustainability and Environmental Services to improve the community as well as the earth. A variety of opportunities are available, including: Gardner (control weeds and help with general maintenance, Composting and Recycling Programs (an interactive program with youth), and Plano Independent School District Organic Recycling programs(a hands-on opportunity working with students to support the organic recycling program at PISD). There is a wide variety of opportunities available contact us for a complete list.
The Gardner position requires physical strength to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and ability to identify plants and weeds. Training will be provided. Assisting with the Composting and Recycling Programs as well as the PISD Organic Recycling Program requires good presentation skills, ability to work with children, flexibility, a sense of humor, and some musical aptitude. Ability to answer questions about recycling and composting is necessary. Most programs are during school hours and training is provided. These opportunities will work out of the Parkway Service Center at 4200 Plano Parkway.  This opportunity is sponsored by: City Of Plano Volunteers In Plano
