Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Construction Superintendent works closely with the Construction Manager and volunteers to oversee construction on Habitat homes. This includes preparation of the construction schedule for the site, oversight of volunteers, preparation of site materials and tools for work teams, and hands-on work at the construction site. This position reports to the Construction Manager.

Knowledge of residential construction and site preparation are required. The volunteer must also be able to read house plans. Previous residential construction experience is required. Hours are typically Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 AM until 4:00 PM, but may vary and are flexible depending on the schedule of the applicant. Volunteer does not have to work all these hours. They can be split by 3 or 4 volunteers.

The Habitat offices are located at 701 S. Tennessee in McKinney. From 75, take the Eldorado exit and go East. When you reach Hwy. 5, go North (left) until you reach Chestnut Street, the street that runs along the south side of the Collin County courthouse (a 6-story building). Go West (left) on Chestnut Street for 2 blocks and turn South (left) at the first stop sign. This is S. Tennessee. You will go 2 blocks before you reach the offices. The offices are in a white one-story building on the left (next to the funeral home). Parking is in the rear. Please enter through the rear door.
