The Heard Natural Science Museum seeks volunteers to lead Badge Workshops for scouting groups on Saturdays. Volunteers will lead fun and interactive nature activities both in a classroom setting and outdoors on the sanctuary. Previous activities have included leading nature games, exploring aquatic wildlife, and hunting for rocks and fossils. Staff supervision, training, and lesson plans will be provided. Previous scouting or teaching experience is helpful but not required. The Heard is looking for individuals who interact well with children and adults, are comfortable as group leaders, and are excited about nature. Workshop leaders must be at least 21 years of age. On-the-job training is provided by apprenticing with staff and experienced workshop leaders. Volunteers will be needed at least one Saturday of each month for 2 hours (i.e. 1 workshops 2-hours long). Workshops are offered September through May. This opportunity is sponsored by: Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary
