We need medical and non-medical volunteers to support the existing emergency management infrastructure. You can assist in emergency response activities by joining the Collin County Medical Reserve Corps at www.metroplexvolunteers.com. Once you have signed up in this database, you will automatically be notified by email of upcoming training events and disaster response activities. Some job roles that you may be trained to fill during a disaster are: Medical Roles: Drug/Vaccine Dispenser Medical Screener Triage Emergency Medical Care Physician Consultant Mental Health Worker/Crisis Counselor Non-Medical Roles Documents Coordinator Inventory Technician Patient Educator Runner Crowd Control Translator Greeter/Forms Distributor Communications/IT
Volunteers must be 18 years or older. All volunteers must attend a MRC Orientation Session before being credentialed with official badge and t-shirt. Additional training opportunities will be offered for interested volunteers. Additional training will be required for volunteers that would like to take a leadership position in the organization.
