ACCC currently has 19 Client Intake Coordinators who assist clients. Each volunteer works a 3.5 hour shift one day each week. They access our data base of resource organizations and client history information to assist the clients with their needs. Through the ACCC telephone interview process clients are guided to the agencies that can best provide them with support. The volunteers then link the clients to the proper agencies by providing contact and location information. ACCC provides this service to all 615,200 residents of Collin County. We have a continuing need for additional volunteers, particularly those who are bilingual in English and Spanish. Client Intake Coordinators need to have: A pleasant phone voice. Good oral and written communication skills. Listening skills. An empathetic and non-judgmental attitude. An understanding of and sensitivity to the needs, attitudes, and behavior of users of the service. An ability to determine in relation to need and urgency. In the process of becoming a Client Intake Coordinator you will: Have a screening interview. Make a commitment to serve one year. Complete initial training. Work on telephone shift once a week (we work around vacation, etc.) Attend in-service training sessions as scheduled. Sign a statement of confidentiality.
