Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Every year high school students from all over the world dream of experiencing life in the United States from the inside by going to school and sharing the every day life of their American host family. The USA is known around the world as the land of opportunity; perhaps that is why Americans have always been so ready to share, so generous in times of need, and so welcoming of visitors. Educational Merit Foundation is looking for caring people to open their hearts and homes to one of these eager, young adventurers for a semester or an academic year. If you are able to provide a bed, meals, and a stable and loving environment, you have what it takes to become a host family for a high school student from abroad. Host Families come in all shapes and sizes. You can be a married or a single adult, with or without children. EMF students carry full insurance and have their own spending money. We believe that our students have as much to share with you, as your family has to teach them about America. We commend all of our students and host families for their role in building a better, more culturally aware world. We hope you will join us by opening your heart and home to a student. As a Host Family, you need to be able provide a loving home and meals for one or two exchange students. Students can have a private room or share a room with a same-sex sibling. Host Families come in all shapes and sizes. You can be a married or single adult, with or without children. We have many single-parent host families, as well as "empty-nesters" and people who have never had children.
