The organization’s vision is to enhance youth economic, social, educational, financial and leadership skills, as well as, introduce them to a mentorship model/ curriculum that enhances and promotes long-term success.

Description:
Career Vision Ambassadors (CVA)is a Comprehensive Mentoring, Leadership and Workforce Development Organization that tremendously increases disadvantaged youth educational expectations and employment opportunities. CVA monitor its clients from middle school through college and extend an invitation to its graduate alumnus to give back to the community by becoming role models to current participants. CVA has recently re-positioned the organization to impact over 3,000 enrolled students in the Irvington School District and throughout Essex County on an annual basis. They accomplish impacting/servicing a wide range of students by conducting Peer-to-Career Community Forums along with round-table in-school discussions. They arrange school site visits by community professionals and provide age appropriate career and lifeskills workshops. The events are in-addition to and separate activities from what is conducted for their weekly participants enrolled in their 5-tier program(s). They provide a periodic student column for the Irvington Herald Newspaper which has a potential readership population of approx. 60,000+ (2000 census). Below please find relevant information/data based upon annual related program activities (program runs all year long with a summer workforce development component).

History:

We use a replicable model for advancing educational learning capacities both inside and outside of the classroom called Youth S.U.C.C.E.E.D. Our graduation success rate through our career mentorship and leadership development programs are at 100% since our inception in 2003.
