The Junior League of Elizabeth - Plainfield is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Description:
Our organization provides more than just a hands-on volunteering opportunity. Our mission compels us to help our members develop their full potential so that they can serve the community as leaders in and Board members of other non-profit organizations. In addition to working with local homeless shelters, providing professional clothing low income women entering the workforce and teaching at risk families the dangers of childhood obesity, we train our volunteers on ways to become a more effective leader in the non-profit community. We do this by sending our members to formal training seminars and by providing them with hands-on opportunities.

History:
For over 86 years the members of the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield have been working to improve the lives of families in crises throughout Union County. Our members live throughout Union, Middlesex and Somerset Counties.
