History:
We are over 100 years old - originally formed to battle TB. We won this battle and were the first not for profit to completely restructure our mission to keep up with changing needs and current issues. We realized that over the years, numerous lung diseases had become a deadly reality and there is much that can be done to advocate for changes affecting lung health through government policies, educating the public and professionals and working with various groups to address their lung health issues, such as smoking or asthma and fighting for ways to move towards a healthy resolution. We have fought long and hard to control tobacco use and find ourselves very successful in helping to provide smoke free public places and offering the public smoking cessation resources. Our LungNet website and telephone contact offers answers for all areas of lung health with links to resources to help those who contact us find help.
