Our Mission

To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.

Our Vision

We will build a stronger America by mobilizing our communities to improve people's lives.

To do this we will:

  • Energize and inspire people to make a difference
  • Craft human care agendas within and across our communities
  • Build coalitions around these agendas
  • Increase investments in these agendas by expanding and diversifying our own development efforts and supporting those of others
  • Measure, communicate, and learn from the impact of our efforts
  • Reflect the diversity of the communities we serve
  • Description:
United Way of Morris County is working to…

…advance the common good by focusing on EDUCATION, INCOME and HEALTH. These are the building blocks for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

We aim to create long-lasting community change by addressing the underlying causes of the most significant local issues. We believe that it takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. We convene people from all across the community – government, business, faith groups, nonprofits, and fellow citizens – to tackle the issues.

Why? Because we all win when…

    • A child is able to achieve their potential and succeed in school.
    • A family becomes financially stable and independent.
    • Individuals are able to achieve and maintain good health throughout the stages of their lives.

LIVE UNITED is a call to action as much as it is a statement of our intent. It is a constant reminder that when we as individuals think outside ourselves, we have the power to facilitate change. United, we can change what we see in our world.
When we think of others’ lives as linked to our own, our compassion grows. We build the strength of our neighborhoods. We bolster the health of our communities. And we change the lives of those who walk by us every day.
Underneath everything we are, underneath everything we do, we are all people. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED.

Advancing the Common Good: Creating Opportunities for a Better Life for Everyone in Morris County

Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.
We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy.
United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems in our community. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone working together to create a brighter future.
United Way understands that people want to make a difference in their own communities.
Experience tells us that the best way to help the most people is to focus on the underlying causes of the most serious problems in the areas of EDUCATION, INCOME and HEALTH. Here in Morris County, United Way is focused on critical issues including support for caregivers, providing quality childcare and education for all, addressing serious social issues of our middle school kids, accessing affordable housing, and ensuring independence for all community members.
It takes the whole community working together to reach our goals in these areas. United Way brings together people from all across the community — people from government, business, faith groups, nonprofits, and everyday citizens. If it requires fundraising, going to “City Hall” or just getting people to work together, that’s what we do.
    Our mission is clear
United Way of Morris County improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
