Rocking Horse Rehab

We are a pediatric rehab center for children with multiple disabilities. We provide Hippotherapy, therapeutic riding and equine assisted therapies for our clients. We are a complete family health center. Rocking Horse Rehab has a variety of programs for siblings and family members of the child with disabilities. Hippotherapy is a non threatening form of treatment for our children. They are happy and enjoy the freedom of riding on a horse while receiving therapy.

Description:
Hippotherapy is a treatment strategy which uses the movement of the horse to achieve functional goals. Functional outcomes are achieved through improvements in posture, balance, mobility, motor control,flexibility, sensory processing and communication skills. Our volunteers assist the therapists by walking along one side of the horse while the therapist is on the other side and a lead line person is walking the horse. Our horses are beautiful and gentle. We have witnessed many amazing "firsts", such as a child speaking for the first time and taking their first steps because of the unique therapy. Our children range from approximately two years to twelve years old. Our clinic occupies approximately 2000 square feet of brand new treatment rooms, offices, a kitchen and a beautiful reception area with seven large viewing windows overlooking our Olympic size, heated indoor arena.

History:
Rocking Horse Rehab offers an array of therapeutic and recreational activities for the entire family. We have proudly been offering pediatric Eqine Facilitated Therapy services since 1993. Hippotherapy is a very unique, non threatening form of treatment for children with multiple disabilities.
