Vision:Prevention Links will create a healthy and drug free environment by strengthening community, family and youth through substance abuse prevention. Mission: Prevention Links, a private, not for profit organization, takes a leadership role in the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse and related issues. We Collaborate with others similarly concerned. We Assist individuals and families with information, skills and referrals. We provide Resources and Education to the community. We C.A.R.E. about prevention.
Description:
Prevention Links provides prevention services to Union County residents. Our programs are provided through school and community settings. We provide programs for the lifespan for children in Kindergarten to Senior Citizens. Our programs are evidence based programs that teach life skills and general substance abuse awareness. By providing our youth and families with better skills such as self esteem, decision making, conflict resolution, parenting and communication, participants are able to make healthier choices for themselves and their families. We also have a prevention resource center with brochures, books, curricula and videos for distribution.
History:
Prevention Links has been serving Union County for over 35 years. Previously, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Union County (NCADD), Prevention Links has worked to strengthen Union County through substance abuse education and prevention services. Prevention Links is a member of the New Jersey Prevention Network which is a statewide network of substance abuse prevention agencies serving every county in the state.
