Agency Details:
People For Animals, Inc
People for Animals is dedicated to alleviating animal suffering by providing proactive, no-kill, constructive solutions to cat and dog overpopulation. People for Animals serves NJ pet owners, their pets, and abandoned cats and dogs by providing foster and medical care, adoption assistance, educational services, and low-cost spay/neuter services.
Description:
People for Animals holds dog adoption events for rescued dogs twice monthly at the Bridgewater PetSmart store. We recruit foster homes to house homeless dogs and provide medical care as needed. People for Animals operates a website with Helpline information, www.pfa.petfinder.org, to help the public find new homes for their pets or strays and to assist with other pet problems such as litterbox issues or dog training. Most important, People for Animals Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic sterilizes dogs and cats to prevent pet overpopulation and to improve the health of the individual pet.
History:
People for Animals began providing pet rescue services in 1980. Due to the pet overpopulation crisis, we opened our low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Hillside in 1985 to prevent the birth of literally millions of dogs and cats. We have found new homes for thousands of rescued pets and spay/neutered nearly 100,000 dogs and cats.
