Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties-NJ

To organize, under professional direction, mature and responsible men and women to provide, on a volunteer basis, primarily a one-to-one relationship to boys and girls who are deprived of a wholesome relationship with a parent or some other adult; and thus to provide companionship and guidance to insure the proper moral, mental and physical development of such boys and girls.

Description:
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the matching of one adult to one child who needs a positive role model for stability and companionship. An adult volunteers for three to five hours per week to provide mentorship to a child between the ages of five and fourteen.

History:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hunterdon County was established in 1974. In 1997, we expanded to include Somerset County.
