As a volunteer, an important role that you can fill is that of Board Member for a not-for-profit organization.

Serving on a Board of Trustees provides volunteers an opportunity to utilize their specific skills providing leadership and governance for an organization.

Passion for the cause, time commitment and financial support are three main attributes prospective board members need to possess.  If, as a prospective board volunteer, you can meet these three main requirements, then the Board Connection program is for you.

The Board Connection program will facilitate your match with organizations that will value and utilize your leadership. As a volunteer, fill out the board profile survey. Upon completion, you will have access to organizations that are interested in recruiting volunteer board members that are a match with the skills you have to offer.

It is strongly suggested that you carefully review an agency’s Volunteer Solutions profile and visit their website.  After doing this, if you find an agency that fits your skills and passion, email the agency with your expressed interest.

Shortly the agency will contact you for  further conversation.

VMC staff are available to facilitate the match and ready to answer any questions you may have. A number of agencies’ brochures are available at VMC and VMC also provides Board Member orientation and training sessions.
