Arts & Humanities Council Of Charlotte County
The mission of the Arts & Humanities Council of Charlotte County is to advocate, promote, and develop the cultural climate of Charlotte County by promoting artists and art organizations of all disciplines, and encouraging the enjoyment and participation of our residents, students, and visitors.
Description:
The Council presents special events, such as Artsensation and Artrain USA; provides sites for artists to exhibit, sponsors philosophical discussion groups and acts as the "Chamber of the Arts." The Council works with cultural organizations, the government and business sector to improve economic development and the quality of life in Charlotte County.
History:
The Arts & Humanities Council is celebrating its 20th year. Originally begun as a committee of the Board of County Commission, the Council became independent in 1990. The Council is a 501(c)3 organization and is recognized as the official Local Arts Agency by the State of Florida and the Charlotte County Government.
