Keep Charlotte Beautiful's mission is to improve the quality of life in Charlotte County through enhanced community awareness, education and public/private partnerships, while working together on projects that:
Keep our environment clean and free of debris;
Beautify our neighbors and public spaces; and
Instill pride and a sense of ownership to ensure effective, long-term results that protect and conserve the air, water and other natural resources of Charlotte County.

Description:
Keep Charlotte Beautiful offers numerous opportunities for volunteers who would like to make a difference. The next one will be the International Coastal Cleanup. This cleanup is scheduled for September 20th. Please check our website for details keepcharlottebeautiful.org .

Education is a key factor in helping to Keep Charlotte Beautiful. We promote environmental activities that help educate the public on environmental issues. We promote recycling, an Environmental Calendar Art Contest in the schools and other environmental activities in schools and community events.

We work with local neighborhood associations to improve their neighborhoods by not only keeping them litter-free, but also through planting Liberty Gardens and other beautification projects.

History:
Keep Charlotte Beautiful has been an affiliate of the Keep America Beautiful program since October 26, 2001. Working in an office in the Charlotte County Environmental & Extension Services Dept., we strive to help save taxpayers money by enlisting volunteers to remove litter caused by illegal acts and carelessness. Our volunteers have grown throughout the six years but volunteers are always needed not only to pick up trash but many other environmental projects.
