Agency Details:
EARS Animal Rescue Sanctuary
EARS' mission is to rescue and care for domestic animals for the rest of their natural life. EARS rescues and adopts out dogs, cats and bunnies. Our goal is to educate the public regarding animal welfare and to spay and neuter as many animals as possible.
Description:
EARS Animal Rescue Sanctuary, with its corporate office in Englewood, is involved in rescuing and caring for dogs, cats and bunnies. Using an extensive network of foster homes, we are able to rescue, socialize and prepare for adoption, many animals who might otherwise be euthanized. We provide health care, spay/neuter, and training to prepare these animals for their new permanent homes. To fund these projects, EARS relies on special events put on by our volunteers and donations from supporters who believe in our mission. We hold several fundraisers each year which are run by our volunteers. Each animal we take into our system is treated as an individual and care is taken to insure its health and future. Home studies are completed before each adoption and every effort is made to be sure a placement will work.
History:
EARS was founded in 2001 by Peggy Hauptman. Mrs. Hauptman was a woman with a pure heart who loved all living creatures. Her dreams was to build and operate a care-for-life sanctuary for domestic animals. Peggy passed away in March, 2006, and EARS' board of directors, staff and volunteers are committed to finalizing her dream.
