The mission of the American Lung Association is save lives by preventing lung disease and promoting lung health. Through education, advocacy and research we are fighting for air.

Description:
The American Lung Association of South Dakota is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit health organization.

The American Lung Association's HelpLine 800.548.8252 is staffed with registered nurses and respiratory therapists available to answer questions on respiratory topics and help with smoking cessation counseling. Asthma 101 the Basics is a program to educate daycare providers about asthma so they are better prepared to deal with young children who have asthma. The American Lung Association is also a program partner of Asthma Camp to help kids ages 8-14 learn vital asthma management skills while participating in a camp-setting, many for the first time because of the limitations of asthma. Camp is a place of discovery and dreams where they can learn to live beyond the limits asthma has placed on their lives for far too long.
