Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Greet patients and families arriving in the Outpatient Procedures Waiting area. Ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner, communicate needs with nursing staff and help to make waiting families comfortable. Following the completion of the procedure, assist physicians in finding families to discuss results. Families can be nervous and anxious; just the presence of a volunteer makes them more comfortable. Families are very appreciative of having volunteers available. The pace of the clinic is comfortable. Mostly sitting is involved with some walking within the clinic to guide patients. Afternoon openings currently exist.

Volunteers are provided orientation to the hospital and the role in the waiting area.
