Volunteer Opportunity Details:

When volunteering with the Teddy Bear Den, there are a number of ways to get involved:

• You can volunteer during our open hours (Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11-1pm)and assist participants as they register for our program, pick out clothing and necessary baby items for their child and refer our participants to local agencies participating in our program such as WIC, Foodstamps, health care providers and local prenatal and parenting classes. The best part of volunteering on Tuesdays and Saturdays is the opportunity to hold all of the new babies as our participants shop for baby items.
  
  
• Assist with Bear Necessities-Bear Necessities is a 6 foot wooden bear that travels to different businesses, schools and area organizations collecting new baby items for our participants. Individuals volunteering to help with Bear Necessities would help with set up, tear down and transporting baby items. This opportunity would be a couple of hours once a month.

The Teddy Bear Den asks that our volunteers train "hands on" with other volunteers during open hours. We also ask that our volunteers donate 2 hours per month of volunteer time.
