Adopt a Family

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on February 18, 2009

Help families during the holidays who will be unable to buy presents for their children. The adoption expands into other needs as well. Families will identify needs such as clothing, food, decorations, and household items that they fall short of. The adopting family will either deliver the gifts directly to the family or to a neutral site for the family to pick up themselves depending on the preference of the receiving family. A wonderful way to celebrate with your own family, classmates or co-workers the true meaning of this special season.

Donor information for adopting a family will be available in October.

5 Overall Experience    Experience rating
I enjoy helping others while learning myself.

I have enjoyed volunteering at the Helpline for several years. Helping others and meeting new volunteers is rewarding every day. Learning what programs, events, and groups are available in Sioux Falls is ongoing experience. Sioux Falls is a great city, volunteering at the Helpline is my way of making it even better.
