Description:
The Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region is located in the former Sacred Heart Parochial school/convent at 291 Union Ave in Laconia directly behind the Sacred Heart Church. A Summer Day Camp for ages 6 - 16 starts June 30th for eight weeks. Activities include -sewing, cooking, crafts, computers, games, leadership opportunities, volunteering, drug and alcohol prevention education. School year program has drop in program for middle and high school and a Kids Club program for ages 6 - 10.
History:
The Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region was official on 2/7/07. Prior to that it operated as the Teen Center of the Lakes Region and Belknap County Teen Center. It was organized by concerned citizens after the death of Robbie Mills and first opened in 1999.
