Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on October 3, 2009 |
We need community volunteers to sit on our monthly Juvenile Restorative Panels (JRPs) in White River Junction and Springfield, VT. The JRPs give adjudicated youth offenders referred by the Department of Children & Families the opportunity to accept responsibility for their actions, make amends to their victims, and repair any harm to the community. The panel members work with the youth to create a restorative agreement that reinforces their accountability by assigning certain conditions such as community service, monetary restitution, letters of apology, special projects, etc. Volunteers must fill out an application form, sign a confidentiality statement, read and agree to our volunteer guidelines, and meet with the program manager. Training sessions are offered two times a year. This opportunity is sponsored by: Valley Court Diversion Programs, Inc.
