The Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, Inc.

Parker Home is committed to the evolution of an environment that is harmonious with nature, wherein our elders and employees are valued. Genuine care is provided to each resident's body, mind and spirit by building and maintaining an environment that has opportunities for companionship as well as opportunities to nurture other living things. Active involvement from the community is critical to accomplish our mission.

Description:
Parker Home is a private, non-profit corporation consisting of two long-term care facilities in New Brunswick (51 beds) and Piscataway (73 beds), and one Assisted Living Residence (60 Suites) in Highland Park. Since its inception, Parker Home has provided seniors a place to live in a pleasant, peaceful atmosphere that is as homelike as possible. This includes the provision to all residents the highest quality of care. Parker Home's philosophy reflects the mission of its founder Henrietta Parker, and its benefactor, General Robert Wood Johnson, to provide excellent care at a reasonable cost. This philosophy was further realized in 1998 when Parker Home became one of four registered Eden Alternative homes in New Jersey. Parker Home continues to lead the State in developing innovative ways to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of its residents. In 2002 Parker opened a Dementia Care Neighborhood to improve the lives of those with early-mid stage dementia. An Assisted Living Residence and a community center was recently opened in late 2006.

History:
Parker Home was founded in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1907 by Henrietta Parker in memory of her late husband, Francis. Mr. Parker believed that people suffering from chronic illness should have the opportunity to live in a home-like atmosphere with excellent nursing care at low cost.
