Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Volunteering with the Speakers Bureau requires additional training following completion of the Center's Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate training. Volunteers will provide presentations on sexual assault and the services of the Union County Rape Crisis Center to schools, agencies, and organizations throughout Union County.

Before commencing work with the Union County Rape Crisis Center, persons must be residents of Union County; be 18 years of age or older; have a valid driver's license and personal mode of transportation; undergo an informal interview and complete a 40 hr. specialized training on sexual trauma, crisis intervention, and advocacy. The next training will begin on September 22, 2009 and continue through November 19, 2009. The training will take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 PM to 10 PM at the Union County Rape Crisis Center office in Westfield, NJ. Bilingual Volunteers are welcome!!
