A DAY IN THE LIFE – Put yourself in someone else’s shoes

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 26, 2009

Take advantage of this educational opportunity to learn first hand about how United Way and our community partners help people who are struggling to get by in this challenging economy. Volunteers will become immersed in the life of someone in our community and will get to experience first-hand the challenges and intricacies of obtaining needed resources and services.

This opportunity is designed to create awareness of the day to day activities of someone less fortunate than ourselves, therefore promoting advocacy, within the community.

Please contact United Way three weeks prior to the project date.

Volunteer Reflections    Post Your Own!

5 Overall Experience    Experience rating
felt good to volunteer to help school children go back to school with their own supplies

My son and I met and worked with very nice people who made this first sorting experience pleasant. We also felt good about what we did and would definitely do it again.
