Medical Advocacy: On call advocates provide support and information to victims of violent crime to ensure that the victim’s interests are represented and their rights upheld in the medical setting or hospital emergency room.

Legal Advocacy: Legal advocates provide information regarding the legal process and accompany victims to investigative and court proceedings.

Crisis Intervention: This service program ensures an immediate personal response to any victim of crime or family member presenting a crisis related to the crime.

Information and referral: Advocates respond to direct requests for information and assistance related to witnessing or experiencing a crime.

General Advocacy: This program provides personal support and assistance in accessing resources and related services for those that have experienced a crime and their loved ones.

Support Groups: A variety of support groups related to coping with the aftermath of violent crime are offered.

History:
In 1971, the Rape Crisis Network began providing services to the Spokane Region. Since then we evolved into the Spokane Sexual Assault Center in 1991, where we began to offer prevention, education, and counseling services. The most recent evolution of the Center occurred when our name changed to the Victim Rights Response Team. VRRT continues to serve individuals and families affected by sexual violence, but has expanded its programs and education to include those who have been impacted by other crimes and traumatic, life-altering events.
