ACEW VISION I. For the “Adefua Model” to be accepted as one of the national standards for K-12 youth education. II. For African cultural centers to be developed in all major cities worldwide that utilize the “Adefua Model” in which education, economic development, youth employment, and human services will be the areas of focus. This model will consist of a curiculum on DVD and CD assist teachers in training that has the focus in presenting cultural education. ACEW MISSION ACEW’s mission is to create, expand, and offer options for youth to enhance growth, personal development, and academic success through the study of African culture, music, and dance.

Adefua Cultural Education Workshop (ACEW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is committed to developing and maintaining relationships with community agencies, cultural councils, school districts, scholars, parents and education-focused organizations.
History:
ADEFUA Cultural Education Workshop branched from the ADEFUA African Music & Dance Company. Currently ADEFUA is seeking to implement two new branches of service within the company. 1)Friends of ADEFUA meets monthly, and is task oriented involving community input towards the development of the new "African Resource Center". 2) Advisory Committe will be those with professional business experience, that meet monthly to oversee the needs of the organization. ACEW GUIDING PRINCIPLES Team ACEW will continue to stress group cohesion, individual responsibility and personal development.ACEW will recognize and encourage individual contributions with everyone working towards the same objectives. Students ACEW will continue to present high quality cultural and educational workshops to enhance growth, personal development, and promote academic success for our students. Community ACEW will continue to participate actively in engaging the public in appreciating and understanding cultural differences.ACEW will maintain its commitment to developing and maintaining relationships with the community.
