Salvation Army Giving Tree -
*Grant a wish this Christmas season. Volunteer at the Giving Tree and help collect gifts that will be given to underprivileged children and elderly. Knowing that someone cared enough to bring them a present gives hope to the children, families and seniors who receive them. By volunteering at the Giving Tree, you get to remind shoppers that there are some who won't be receiving gifts on Christmas morning. And you'll get to witness the generosity of those who give. Last year over 7,500 toys were given to children and over 1,500 gifts to seniors.
*Volunteers are needed from November 20th to December 24th; the Giving Tree is located at the Tacoma Mall. Individuals and groups are welcome. To volunteer at the Giving Tree contact Ernie Ouellette, Giving Tree Coordinator, at 253-572-8452 ext.105 or ernie.ouellette@usw.salvationarmy.org.
History:The Giving Tree at the Tacoma Mall is a traditional location where individuals pick up a tag that identifies the age and sex of the child or senior recipient. Gifts are then purchased and brought to the tree.
