United Way of Pierce County is reaching out to local businesses, churches, families, and individuals to help disadvantaged children start the school year prepared to succeed through Back-to-School is COOL!
We work with local family support centers and Communities in Schools throughout Pierce County to identify low-income families in need of back-to-school assistance. You can help support a child in need by:
Sponsor a Child - Provide all the necessary school supplies, a back pack and a complete outfit for the first day of school.
Build-a-Backpack- provide a backpack filled with all the necesscary school supplies needed for a child to be successful in school.
Holding a school supply drive - place a donation barrel or box out to collect donations of new school supplies, backpacks, lunchboxes, etc.
Making a donation - make a tax-deductible gift of products or a cash donation toward the purchase of school supplies.
